Nope! All members of Guiding now wear t-shirts and navy blue bottoms. Girl members wear a scarf with coloured maple leaves and Sparks, Brownies and Guides wear a navy blue badge sash. Our uniforms are comfortable and practical for the activities we do. Visit the Girl Guide Store to see the options available.
Isn't Guiding just about making crafts and selling cookies?
No! Crafts and cookie selling are just two parts of our program. Cookie selling provides much-needed funds that benefit all levels of Guiding and help us to deliver great programming. Crafts help girls to develop fine motor skills, attention to detail, and explore their creativity. We also play games, go camping, take hikes, try science experiments, explore our community, participate in community service projects, learn new skills, and so much more!
Do I have to belong to the church or school where the unit meets to join?
No! Guiding is open to all girls and women aged 5+ who are willing to make the Promise and abide by the Code of Conduct. Our meeting places are generously supplied by various churches, organizations and schools at little or no cost. In Caledonia we are grateful to the Grace United Church and River Heights Public School for providing meeting spaces for our units.
