Guide Program

1st Caledonia Pathfinder Unit History

I have a long history with the 1st Caledonia Pathfinders as I was a Pathfinder from 1993 to 1996, a Junior Leader from 1996 to 1998, and have been the unit Contact Guider since 2008.

1980s
The 1st Caledonia Pathfinder Unit was active during the early to mid 1980s, closing around 1986. We still use the original unit flag.

1993 to 1998
The unit reopened in September 1993 at St Paul's Anglican Church with 6 members and grew to 10 girls the following year. Two girls received their Canada Cords in 1996 and four more girls received the award in 1997. Sadly, the unit closed in 1998 due to lack of members.
